London Met University Considers Alcohol Ban
London Metropolitan University may become the first university in the country to ban alcohol from parts of its campus to attract more Muslim students, its Vice Chancellor has said.
Prof Malcolm Gillies said that the university are considering banning alcohol from some parts of the campus because a high percentage of students consider drinking to be immoral.
One - fifth of the university’s students are Muslim and of those the majority are women.Prof Malcolm Gillies said it is an issue of "cultural sensitivity" to provide drink free areas.
